RCUK consultation for a Capital Investment Roadmap

10th Feb 2012

Research Councils UK (RCUK) has issued a consultation inviting views from the research community and research users on a Capital Investment Roadmap for research and research-led innovation. The aim of the Roadmap is to set out the capital funding priorities for the UK research community.

Reflecting changes to capital funding in the 2012 spending review science settlement, RCUK wants to maintain the case for continued investment in new as well as existing facilities and infrastructure to keep the UK at the forefront of science, research and innovation. The new Capital Investment Roadmap will identify opportunities for strategic capital investment for the UK research community and explain the benefits of the UK maintaining a world-class research base. It will replace the existing RCUK Large Facilities Roadmap.

RCUK intends to publish the new Capital Investment Roadmap in autumn 2012. Members of the research community and research users are being invited to submit views about current UK priorities for significant capital investment to RCUK by Friday 4 May. Further details about the consultation can be found at
