Latest Issue of Samara, the newsletter of the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership, now available

2nd Aug 2012

The latest issue of Samara (number 22) is now available on the Kew website at www.kew.org/msbp/samara.

We have dedicated this issue to the Millennium Seed Bank Partnership’s work related to climate change.

We are delighted to host a lead article from Bob Watson, which provides a thought-provoking outline of the many responses which society needs to make to protect biodiversity and ecosystem services in the context of climate change. The following articles illustrate the roles that seedbanks are playing to help society adapt to climate change, and outline projects to conserve particularly vulnerable plants such as those from montane and polar regions, and crop wild relatives and orchid species. Finally we look at MSBP research to assess the vulnerability of species to climate change. Plus the usual news updates from across the Partnership.
